A MAN was threatened with a knife as he made his way home in Rudheath in the early hours of Monday morning.

At 12.30am on Monday, April 14, a Rudheath resident was approached by a man who threatened him with knife and asked to hand over his mobile phone.

The resident was walking home along Shurlach Road in Rudheath.

The victim refused and was able to get away before contacting police.

Cheshire Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who has information about this incident.

DC Ross Hamilton said: "I would like to reassure the public that offences involving the use of a knife are very rare in Northwich and swift action will be taken against those unlawfully in possession of a knife in public."

If you have any information call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
