Barnton Community Primary School pupils help to put the finishing touches to the Barnton mosaic

Mosaic artist is inspired by children’s work for village exhibit

First published in News

A VILLAGE is being immortalised in a mosaic inspired by the community.

Barnton residents have been working with artist Diana Bernice Tackley to create the mosaic and visited her Leighs Brow studio to see its progress.

The Barnton Mosaic is the brainchild of Linda Page who has been working on it with Lynn Gibbon, chairman of Barnton Community Group.

Its colourful design was inspired by and developed from drawings by pupils from Barnton Community Primary School.

Once the mosaic is complete it will be on display on Runcorn Road over the canal bridge.
