A PARKING attendant was assaulted by the driver of a van he was issuing a ticket to in Northwich.
The incident happened in Weaver Way at 11am on Saturday, April 5.
The male parking officer was issuing a ticket to an illegally parked white van when the driver returned and punched him in the arm before driving off.
The driver is described as a large, stocky male in their fifties. They had a shaved head and a blue, checked top.
Officers from Cheshire West and Chester Council took over jurisdiction of parking offences from the police in November 2013.
A police spokesman said: “It is unacceptable that this person, who was simply going about his job, has been subjected to this kind of violence.
“We would urge anyone with information to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
