SINGERS from a Northwich college raised the roof with a charity concert.

Five of Sir John Deane’s College’s adult education choirs joined forces for a special performance held at St John’s Church in Hartford on Wednesday, March 26.

The audience were treated to a host of songs from West End musicals such as Cabaret, Wicked, Carousel, Evita and My Fair Lady, under the baton of SJD Adult Education Singing tutor Mel Levey and accompanist Keith Robinson.

There were also guest appearances from Wilmslow High School Community Choir and Tarporley Primary School.

Their combined efforts raised £1,300 which included a £200 donation to the church and £1,100 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Patsy Chuter, SJD Adult Education manager, said: “A big thank you to everyone who gave their time to make this such a successful event.

“SJD is keen to be at the heart of and contribute to the local community and so it was wonderful to be able to stage a lovely evening and raise money for charity at the same time.”
