KEEN bakers are being urged to get involved in a cake baking competition for charity in Weaverham.


Weaverham Community Centre will be hosting the bake-off style competition to raise money for The Neuromuscular Centre in Winsford.


The competition will take place later this on Saturday, April 26, but contestants are being encouraged to enter now.


There are three categories for the competition which are, Junior Baker, for entrants aged 16 and under, Best Decorated, and Classic cakes.


The Neuromuscular Centre has been providing training and supported employment opportunities, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy for more than twenty four years for people with muscular dystrophy.


Several prizes will be on offer for winners including a baking day at The Speckled Hen near Holmes Chapel and professional cooking equipment and afternoon tea for two at the Mad Hatters Tearoom & Bakery in Chester.


As well as being in with a chance of winning the prizes, all contestants will be able to get advice on how to improve their cake baking skills from top dessert chef Ben Hayward.
