  • "Well done those who did take action. Hopefully it will help Mr Gove see that his extreme actions are undermining education in England. We need to ensure that our teachers are professionally trained and not unqualified. And that teachers terms and conditions are respected not trampled on to try and cover for under resourced schools.
    It is a pity that all teachers' unions did not act in defence of education."

PARTIAL closures will be in affect at some schools across Northwich and Winsford tomorrow, Wednesday March 25.

The walkout, involving members of the National Union of Teachers, has been organised in response to Government changes on pay and pension.

Across Cheshire West and Chester, 91 schools will remain open, nine will be closed and 39 partially open.

The Council is awaiting information from six schools.

The borough’s 15 Academies and two free schools will be responding directly to the Department for Education.
