AN evening of Indian cuisine raised more than £600 for a Northwich charity.

Town mayor Clr Bob Robinson welcomed more than 70 people for a meal at The Indian, in Castle.

The event was to raise money for the mayor’s charity, which this year is Multisports Cheshire.

The organisation, which is run by volunteers and meets at Northwich Youth Centre, gives disabled children and young people chance to take part in sports activities, arts and crafts and circus skills.

Raffle donations for the fundraising event were given by The Indian, David Roberts, George Bell Funeral Directors, John Fifield, the Oddfellows, Vickersway Park, Stockley Farm and Gaynor’s Curtain Magic.

Clr Robinson said: “Thanks to the Indian allowing us to take over the restaurant and arranging a fantastic price for us so we were able to hold the event.

“And thanks to everyone who supported this enjoyable event.”
