YOUNG chefs donned their aprons and whipped out their frying pans to raise money and awareness in the battle against a rare heart condition.
Members of Youth Vibe, Deafness Support Network’s (DSN) youth group, took part in The Great Pancake Party in Northwich for the Cardiomyopathy Association.
A pancake themed quiz and other games were played by the group, whose 11 to 18-year-old members are both hearing and D/deaf.
Lorna Langton, lead youth worker at DSN, which has its headquarters in Northwich, said: “This was a brilliant evening – not only did we raise money for an incredibly worthy cause, but we also got to enjoy lots of delicious pancakes.
“The event was a lot of fun, it also highlighted a relatively unknown but surprisingly common health condition that affects the lives of many across the world.”
Cardiomyopathy is the biggest killer of under-35s, and is the main reason for heart transplants.
