RESIDENTS are being urged to join a group and help shape a new Northwich.

The town’s Neighbourhood Plan team has set up seven topic areas to focus on and is looking for volunteers to help in each of the areas.

These include housing needs, recreation, tourism and waterways, transport infrastructure, retail and commercial, employment and education, health and welfare and environment.

David Roberts, chairman of the Neighbourhood Plan, said: “The plan is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our town and will be embedded in the Cheshire West and Chester Local Plan as the planning law for the area.

“Our team working on the plan are making good progress and in the next couple of months they will be working on the detail.

“Having set the outline framework of the plan, we now want to encourage local people to help shape their town through this planning process.”

To join any of the groups or find out more about the Neighbourhood Plan, ring Lesley Moore at Northwich Town Council on 01606 41510.

WHS says...

Good luck to Mr Roberts and his team, let us hope they are not continually stymied by faceless beaurocrats in Whitehall and Chester.
