A PROMISING teenage singer-songwriter will celebrate the release of her debut EP at a Moulton launch show on Friday, March 14.

Winsford-based Sam Lyon wanted to enjoy the first live performance of ‘Promise Me’ with local fans and has therefore chosen to play at Moulton Village Hall, on Main Road.

The 19-year-old produced her debut material with Edge Music Management, who have previously worked with the likes of Lily Allen, Plan B and the Script.

But management duo John Delf and Mel Macnab believe the talented artist has a rare potential after discovering her on YouTube two years.

“We invited her to our studio just outside Alderley Edge and we thought that Sam had something special,” said Mel.

“She has the voice of an angel. She picked up the guitar and it was a goosebump moment for both of us.

“It’s very rare you find someone that can play guitar, sing and write their own songs. She’s a prolific giger – up to 100 a year – but we’re getting Sam ready to take her outside of Northwich.

“This gig is to say ‘thank you’ to her fans for all the support, as it was really important to Sam to say thanks to the people who have been coming to see her play for the last five years.

“Sam has a massive local support. We’ve been working with her bringing musicians into the studio and that’s resulted in her first EP.”

Having started writing songs aged 12, Sam is now working full time as well as recording and is excited to share her new EP.

“There’s been so much hard work and I can’t wait for people to hear my music,” said Sam. “I’m really looking forward to it.

“I’ve done a lot of local gigs and played in Manchester and around the North West. I sent out a link for the new EP to some of my followers and got some good feedback, so I was really happy with that.

“I think we are going to start work on another one straight after; definitely, hopefully! It’s difficult working full time but we do find the time – it just works!”

Sam will be supported by Izzie Naylor on the night. Tickets cost £4 from maltnmusic.ticketsource.co.uk or on the door.
