YOUNG musicians are doing it for themselves with a mid Cheshire project that keeps on growing.

A total of 21 acts from Amplify Youth Music Project performed in three separate events within one week.

This started with Northwich Artisan Market, on February 8, where Katy Galloway, Will Garner, Charlotte Jade Wakefield, Steve Millar, Rich Scholes, Gem Craven, Dylan Monticelli and Olivia Queenie Stokes entertained shoppers.

Then the project moved on to ‘Mid Cheshire Youth Music and Amplify Presents’, when Joe Barker, Sam Lyon, UnderAged and Arms & Hearts played at Mid Cheshire College.

The grand finale of the event trio was ‘Pop Punk vs Metal: Roud Two’ at Amplify’s home of The Venue, in Rudheath.

This featured Above The Underground, This Is Turin, Immoral Ethics, Bison, Seven Days Of Solace and Silent Conspiracies with acoustic sets from Sara Tonge and Beth England.

Beth England, acoustic artist and lead singer in Seven Days of Solace, said: “Round Two was an even bigger success that any of us could have imagined.

“The bands were all on their top game and to have bands such as This Is Turin and Above The Underground there to show their support and to be pushing everyone on so much was just brilliant.

“The winner is still undecided though, so I think another round is in order.

“Ting ting, bands at the ready!"
