A NEW chairman is needed to head up a lifeline organisation for mid Cheshire.

The current chairman of Cheshire West Citizens Advice, Jon Barrett, will stand down in March 2015 so the board has started looking for his replacement.

The chairman designate will join as a trustee in 2014 and become chairman in 2015.

Citizens Advice is seeking someone with astute judgement, a collaborative style and the ability to build an effective working relationship with the charity’s chief executive.

The person appointed to this voluntary role will be able to give at least 15 days per year to the charity.

Paul Nicholls, chief executive, said: “We are looking for someone who cares deeply about changing people’s lives for the better and making society more equal, and with the ambition and skills to guide Cheshire West Citizens Advice towards greater impact and improved income from a wider range of sources.

“We need someone with an excellent track record in a leadership role and familiarity with the not-for-profit sector.”

The deadline for applications is 11am on Monday, April 14.
