A HERITAGE tour will visit art galleries in Preston, Accrington and Blackburn.

The trip, organised by Development of the Arts in Northwich (DAN), will take place on February 22 with the coach departing Northwich Memorial Hall at 9am.

Other pick up points are available in Winsford, Davenham, Sandiway and Hartford.

The Harris Art Gallery in Preston has a fine art collection and there are several special exhibitions, including an exhibition of works by Bruce Nauman, one of the most influential artists of our time. The show includes his epic work, Changing Light Corridor with Rooms, last exhibited in the UK in 1989.

After lunch, the trip moves to the Haworth Art Gallery in Accrington to see the world-famous Tiffany glass collection – the largest public collection in Europe – donated by Accrington born Joseph Briggs who was a designer for Tiffany.

The tour finishes at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery, which has collections of Japanese prints, the Hart collection of books, coins and medieval manuscripts, an award-winning South Asian gallery, the history of Blackburn, the Egyptian Mummy, fine and decorative art and the Bowdler collection of world beetles.
