AN OPEN day is being organised so Kingsmead residents can find out where their Council Tax is going.
Kingsmead Parish Council wants to highlight its work and explain its budget after it has announced an increase for the 2014/15 financial year.
The rise equates to 36 per cent for the average Band D property, although the parish council said residents would be paying less than when maintenance of the development was in the hands of Kingsmead Landscape Management Company (KLMC).
Clr Helen Weltman said: “Once Council Tax bills hit and people see the increase we need to be able to talk to people.
“We need to explain what we have done so far and what we are proposing to do for the next year.”
Clr Brian Done said: “We’ve put together a five-year budget so residents won’t see an increase again in that.”
The council hopes to hold the open day on Saturday, March 15, but further details are yet to be confirmed.
