A FIGHT aboard a train between Hartford and Crewe left innocent passengers frightened for their safety.
British Transport Police has released CCTV images of several people they would like to speak to about the incident, which occurred at about 10.15pm on Wednesday December 22, on-board the Liverpool Lime Street to Birmingham New Street London Midland service.
PC Karl Harvey said: “A groups of people boarded the train at Hartford and, shortly into the journey, began arguing with a second group that had been on the train since it left Liverpool.
“This soon developed into physical aggression as members of the groups pushed and fought with each other.
“At one stage the aggressors even climbed over seats, containing innocent passengers, to get to each other.
“All those involved left the train at Crewe and, we believe, all got into taxis after leaving the station.”
Officers have carried out a number of enquiries since the incident and, in the past week, have identified the people featured in the CCTV images as being key to the investigation.
PC Harvey added: “I am convinced that those captured on CCTV have vital information about the incident and I urge anyone with information to come forward.
“The other passengers on the train were left frightened and upset by the level of aggression and it is important that we trace those responsible as soon as possible.”
