WALKERS donned fancy dress and trekked from Knutsford to Northwich to help children and families in need.

Jemma Manley, from Hartford, and Jessica Dougall, from Knutsford, were joined by a host of supporters on their sponsored walk from Knutsford train station to The Joshua Tree’s support centre in Northwich.

This is not the first fundraiser the pair have organised for the charity as they joined in with a Christmas bag pack and have also raised more than £160 selling little girls’ fairy accessories.

The Joshua Tree is fundraising to build a holiday home and support centre for families with children suffering a life-threatening illness.

It has opened an interim support centre in Venables Road to make a start on the good work.

The Joshua Tree is looking for fundraisers to hold coffee mornings during February to mark International Childhood Cancer Day, on February 15.

Anyone who can help should ring the charity on 01606 331858.
