JOBSEEKERS in Northwich and Winsford are being offered a pioneering new way to find work.

An online UK-wide job search system is being rolled out to give residents quick and efficient access to vacancies.

The Kaonix system is available at community venues across Northwich and Winsford, including libraries and Work Zones.

It is free to use and jobseekers are given the support of a trained advisor to help them register and use the system.

Cheshire West and Chester Council’s (CWAC) Northwich and Winsford locality team has been working with Jobcentre Plus, Mid Cheshire College, Cheshire Community Development Trust and Weaver Vale Housing Trust to roll out Kaonix.

Clr Herbert Manley, CWAC’s executive member for growth and innovation, said: “The internet is transforming the way people find jobs, however, the sheer choice of websites can make online job hunting a daunting experience.

“Kaonix is straightforward to use and enables residents to quickly identify jobs from a vast database that match their skills and experience – as well as offering many other useful features.

“I am sure it will prove a valuable tool for jobseekers in Northwich and Winsford and complement the work of the council and our partners to help residents find job opportunities and reduce the number of people who are unemployed.”

Kaonix can be accessed at Northwich, Winsford and Wharton libraries, Northwich and Winsford Work Zones, Cheshire Community Development Trust, in Navigation Road, Mid Cheshire College’s Hartford Campus, and Weaver Vale Housing Trust, in Gadbrook Park.
