A NORTHWICH singer songwriter who graduated from Paul McCartney’s prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts performs in town this weekend.

Tom Stockdale will play at the Grange Theatre at 7.30pm on Saturday, February 1.

And his four-piece combo have just returned from a victorious Hogmany performance in a part of the world made famous by LIPA’s famous Beatles patron.

“Me and the guys from the band recently played in Campbeltown, by the Mull of Kintyre,” said Tom, whose show on Saturday will feature a mix of covers and original material.

He added: “My experience at LIPA was brilliant. The tutors taught me a great deal. I feel like I really found my individuality as a musician and a performer while I was there.

“My main influences as a songwriter range from Jeff Buckley and Gary Clark Jr. to The Black Keys and The Doors, many of which we will be covering at the gig on Saturday."
