A SOLICITOR from Northwich is one of the youngest presidents to be appointed to Trafford Law Society.

Sarah Turnbull, manging director at Nicholls Solicitors in Altrincham, has been given the top job at the tender age of 30.

“I was voted in as president this year which is quite exciting and a little bit daunting,” she said.

“We haven’t really had any younger presidents, but the society has been going since the 1980s so historically I don’t know.”

Sarah, who grew up in Barnton but now lives in Castle, was vice-chairman for two years and said the society, which has 30 members, has a big role to play in Trafford’s social circles and in raising issues nationally.

“We organise social events and training for local solicitors’ firms and if there’s any particular issues solicitors have got we can report it to the national law society,” she said.

“I feel very honoured to be president, it’s quite an important role.

“It’s a big responsibility but exciting and hopefully I can do some good.”

Sarah went to Hartford High School and Sir John Deane’s College before studying law at The University of Manchester and completing a legal practice course at the College of Law in Chester.

Her career at Nicholls began in 2005 when she did work experience there, which continued until she qualified, when she was invited to become a director.

“I’ve done everything quite quickly,” she said.

She specialises in divorce and family law and personal injury cases.

Sarah’s links with the town means that the firm does have a Northwich client base and also sponsors Winnington Park Cricket Club.
