A MAN was arrested after two burglaries at houses in Kingsmead in January.

The burglaries took place in Tatton Close and Waverton Close.

Jewellery and money were stolen but the jewellery was found in Registry Close.

Other incidents since early December include a number of shed and garage break-ins and shoplifting in Tesco in Kingsmead Square.

PCSO Caroline Stevens gave an update on the incidents at the latest Kingsmead Parish Council meeting.

Clr Chris Reed, from Kingsmead Parish Council, asked if there was a Homewatch scheme in the village as he had seen stickers in some areas.

PCSO Stevens said: “With Homewatch you have to have a co-ordinator or representative.

“Quite a few people are willing to do this but then not willing to do the work and it kind of fizzles out.

“But now there are so many other ways to get information out.

“There’s Cheshire Police alerts, which you can tailor to what you want to know.

“Homewatch is worthwhile if you’ve got someone willing to put the time in and filter the information out.”
