AUDITIONS take place on Sunday for Northwich’s Got Talent, with a cash prize of £500 up for grabs for the winner.

Acts of all kinds are invited to take part in the event, from singers, dancers and musicians to jugglers, comedians and magicians.

The open auditions take place at the Gladstone Club, in Northwich, at 1pm on Sunday where acts will be selected for the final.

The event has been organised by Northwich Carnival Committee.

Wayne Storey, committee chairman, said: “We thought this was a good idea because there’s nothing for younger folk to do in Northwich.

“We have a prize fund and they can win £500.”

Group and individual acts of all ages from 12 upwards from Northwich and the surrounding CW postcode areas are welcome to audition.

Entry is £2 and hopefuls can enter on the day.

The final itself will take place at Winnington Recreation Club at 7.30pm on Saturday, January 25, and tickets are £5.

Judges include Sue Chatt, from Stagecoach, Ian Lloyd, a florist who made it to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent as one half of the duo Floral Highnotes, and Guardian chief reporter Gina Bebbington.

Sponsors of the event include Northwich Town Council, HD Travel, Roberts Bakery, Garnett Car Wash and Stagecoach.

The event will raise money for the carnival and its charities.
