FOR the first time, members of the public will be able to put questions direct to Cheshire's Police and Crime Panel via social media platform Twitter.

The Cheshire Police and Crime Panel – the body that scrutinises the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner – meets in public every three months.

When the panel next meets, it will be able to receive tweets from members of the public for the first time since its establishment in 2012.

Time at the January meeting will be allocated to members of the public to ask questions of the panel in person or via Twitter.

Members of the public who attend are asked to note that meetings of the Cheshire Police and Crime Panel are webcast, so anyone who attends may appear in the internet-based broadcast.

Each meeting can be viewed online for six months from the date of the meeting.

The meeting will be held on Friday, January17 between 10am-12.30pm in Room 1 at Wyvern House, The Drumber, Winsford, Cheshire, CW7 1AH.

The Cheshire Police and Crime Panel’s Twitter account @CheshirePCP will be monitored throughout the meeting and all incoming tweets will be seen by the chair of the meeting.
