A DUSTBIN lorry overturned in Wincham on New Year’s Eve, trapping three people.

Fire crews were called to Heath Lane on Tuesday, December 31 after reports of a large heavy goods vehicle slipping off a narrow track and onto its side.

Two fire engines from Northwich and one from Winsford attended the scene to find three men trapped within the cab.

The crews gained access to the cab through the front window, the males were then released and handed to the ambulance service.

The vehicle was confirmed as being stable and a small leak of diesel was stemmed using fire and rescue service equipment.

The police were also in attendance at the incident and confirmed that no serious injuries were sustained by the three males.
