A TEENAGE girl was followed through Rudheath for nearly a mile by a man who then attempted to grab her arm.

Police are appealing for information on the suspicious incident, which follows two cases where girls were touched inappropriately by a man in Rudheath last summer.

Police believe the same person may be responsible for the latest incident, which occurred on Sunday evening, December 22.

An 18-year-old girl disembarked a train at Northwich railway station at around 8.30pm.

She was followed from the station by a man who attempted to engage her in conversation. The girl ignored the man and walked on.

She continued along Agecroft Road, where the man made an attempt to grab her arm, whereupon she ran off.

The suspect is described as black or mixed race, in his early twenties and was wearing a blue tracksuit.

In June, Northwich police issued an alert and e-fit image after two teenage girls reported they had been approached in Rudheath and touched inappropriately by a man who offered them cash in exchange for sex.

In the earlier cases, a suspect matching the same description was reported to police.

A spokesman for Northwich police said: “We think this potentially the same person who is responsible for the earlier incidents.

“We would urge people to pay attention to their personal safety, particularly during the darker evenings, and report any suspicious activity to police straight away.”

Anyone with information on the incidents should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
