MORE than 120 new houses are planned for land between a busy dual carriageway and a woodland in Kingsmead.

Emery Planning Partnership has submitted the plans for a development of 121 houses at Hill Top Farm, off the A556.

The full proposal, submitted by Emery on behalf of Russell Homes, includes information on the site layout, design of the houses and a travel plan.

Kingsmead Parish Council is objecting to the plans and Davenham and Kingsmead ward councillor Helen Weltman said she will ‘call in’ the proposal to be examined by Cheshire West and Chester Council’s planning committee.

Speaking at Kingsmead Parish Council she said: “I think it’s dangerous in that position for various reasons.

“Whoever’s done the traffic survey says that there’s been no injuries on the A556 there or accidents, but there’s been deaths.

“There’s also the noise, especially for anyone moving in there.

“The developer would have to put acoustic fencing up so that would change the character of the area.

“Even along the back of Kingsmead where there’s all vegetation they’re going to have to put an acoustic fence.”

Clr Andrew Murison said: “Apart from anything else there’s the location – it says Chester Road, Davenham, on the plans and it’s nothing to do with Davenham, or Northwich.

“What I’m getting at is they haven’t got the gumption to get the right address, these boys are getting paid large sums of money for these reports and it’s not correct.”

Clr Tim Moore said: “The only concern I’ve got that I thought I was in the position to ask questions about is about the traffic, speed limits, how it will affect safety, where traffic lights will be, visibility and so on.”

A decision is expected on the planning application in February.
