A PUB is hosting an evening of fundraising for The Christie.
Northwich man Malcolm Woodward has organised a karaoke and disco night at The Green Dragon, in Witton Street, at 8.30pm on Friday, December 20.
Proceeds from the night will go to The Christie’s £1.3 million appeal for a mobile chemotherapy unit, which it is running in conjunction with BBC Radio Manchester.
Malcolm said: “I listen to Radio Manchester all the time and one of my neighbours is going through chemotherapy – you hear about people with cancer and what they’re going through all of the time.
“I just thought I would do my little bit, put Northwich on the map and show that we’re all caring and sharing round here.”
A raffle will be run on the night and organisers are appealing for any businesses with prizes to donate to get in touch with the pub.
There is no admission but donations are welcome.
Malcolm said: “If people want to make donations they can put money into sealed envelopes, with The Christie written on the envelope, and put them in the charity buckets at The Green Dragon.”
