SCHOOLCHILDREN are being asked to help celebrate the history of Moulton.
Parish councillors hope youngsters from Moulton School will help them to design a plaque at the site of a Bronze Age barrow called Moulton Mound.
Clr Tony Rigby, Moulton Parish Council chairman, said: “Moulton Mound pre-dates the pyramids and we’re hoping to have a plaque on Hillside Lane.
“We’re working with the school to try to find some way of getting the children involved.
“If the kids could come up with a design telling the history of Moulton from barrows to salt to our own history of today that would be great.
“We could have a little scene painted or engraved on the plaque.”
The parish council is appealing for any photographs of the mound throughout the years to help with the project.
Anyone who can help should contact parish clerk Phil Sanders on 01606 861748 or email clerk@moultonpc.org.uk.
