A RUDHEATH woman gave little ghouls and boys a spooky treat when they visited her home on Halloween night, all in the aid of charity.

Debra Philips, of West Avenue, raised more than £200 for Macmillan Cancer Support through her Halloween charity fundraising, which saw her decorate her home in witches, ghosts, skeletons and coffins.

“It’s something that I do every year for various charities,” said 51-year-old Debra, who works for Weaver Vale Housing Trust.

“Last year I did it for Animal Welfare, I’ve done it for the Joshua Tree and for the air ambulance but this year I decided to do it for Macmillan.

“I did it a little bit different this year with the skeleton and the coffin and people have been really generous.

“Thank you to all of the people who helped me to put the decorations up over the two night and thank you to all of those who donated and the Wow Shop who did the face painting on the day.”

Sarah Page, Cheshire fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support said: “Debra has put such a huge amount of time and effort into decorating her house for Halloween to raise money for Macmillan. We really appreciate her support.

“Macmillan is funded entirely by donations from the public so without the support of the local community we would be unable to provide vital support to local people affected by cancer.”
