REMEMBRANCE services will take place across mid Cheshire this weekend as residents honour the men and women who gave their lives for their country.

Northwich’s Remembrance parade will meet at 9.30am in Neumann Street, off Victoria Road, and travel along Victoria Road from 9.40am to St Helen’s Church where there will be a service at 10am.

The wreath laying will take place after the service, at 10.50am, and refreshments will be served at the Gladstone Club.

Town mayor Clr Bob Robinson said: “It’s 99 years since the First World War and everyone’s gone from then but servicemen and women are still dying every day of the week somewhere – please come and give your thanks to them.”

Winsford’s parade will assemble on the drive to Wyvern House council offices from 10.15am and will proceed via The Drumber, Dingle Lane, High Street and Dene Drive to the town centre through the side entrances to Fountain Court, for the service at 10.45am.

In Middlewich, the Remembrance parade will assemble in Lewin Street outside the Legion at 10.15am and commence at 10.30am. There will be a service at the War Memorial by St Michael’s culminating in the two minute silence at 11am.

Moulton: The parade will begin at the top of Beehive Corner at 9.45am before progressing to St Stephen’s Church, where a service will be held. Refreshments will be available at the Moulton Royal British Legion Club afterwards.

Hartford: The parade assembles at the Royal British Legion in Bradburns Lane at 9.30am for a 9.40am start. It will progress along School Lane to St John’s Church for the service. MP Graham Evans will be attending the Hartford Service of Remembrance.

Rudheath: Remembrance Sunday will be marked by a service at Rudheath Cemetery at 2pm.

Lostock: A service will be held in at Lostock Gralam Church at 10am while Lostock Green will hold theirs at 10.30.

Davenham: The parade will start at the Royal British Legion, Firthfields at 10.05am, with the service due to start at St Wildfrid’s Parish Church at 10.30am. After the service, the parade will reform outside the church and move off to the War Memorial for the wreath laying ceremony.

Weaverham: The parade will start at 2.30pm and will progress along Northwich Road and Wallerscote Road to reach St Mary’s Church, where a service will commence at 3pm. MP Graham Evans will attend this afternoon service.
