Wanted campaign launches in Northwich
7:30am Friday 18th October 2013 in News
WANTED posters are springing up in Northwich as a charity shop appeals for donations.
The Sue Ryder shop, in Witton Street, is holding a art table at the shop tomorrow, Saturday, to raise awareness of its Wanted campaign.
The Wild West themed campaign centres on the charity’s appeal for any items, no matter how old or worn.
Sandy Lunn, Sue Ryder business development partner, said: “Often people choose to throw away items rather than donate as they feel no one will want them.
“But those lonely old socks lying in the bottom of your drawer could help pay for specialist medical care to patients, helping ease their pain and discomfort.”
The charity reuses, recycles and re-sells more than 15,000 tons of donations a year that might otherwise end up as landfill.
Last year it raised £9.5 million from the sale of donated and new goods.
It is appealing for residents to have a sort out in October and donate anything from clothes, books and bric-a-brac to furniture.
