A BARNTON family have helped to raise £325 for Macmillan Cancer Support with their very own coffee morning.
Ruth and Tom Stobart held the event at Barnton Methodist Church after they were unable to host it on the official date of the world’s biggest coffee morning on September 27.
The couple, who have lived in the village for 17 years, shared hot drinks and tasty treats with more than 70 guests, with daughter Lyn helping with the refreshments.
The cake stall and tombola were ran by Hilary Newman and Esther Limb, respectively.
“It was a good team effort,” said Ruth.
“I would just like to say a big thank you to everybody who helped those who came and gave so generously.”
