OFFENDERS stood and watched while a member of their three-strong gang stole money from a woman as she walked through Leftwich.

The victim was in the Fairfield Road and Old Hall Road between 7-7.15pm on Thursday, October 3 when she was approached by two men and a woman.

One of the men stole an amount of cash, before the trio left the scene.

The man responsible for the theft is described as white, approximately 22-years-old, and of slim build. He had light brown short hair, was wearing a green T Shirt with a pattern across the front, and light coloured training shoes. He had a local accent.

The accompanying man is described as white, approximately 22-years-old. He had a skinhead and appeared to have a scarf over his face.

The accompanying woman is described as white with brown hair wearing glasses. She was in her 20's.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward with information, particularly a man in a white vehicle who stopped to offer assistance to the victim.

Sgt Rick Bennet said: “There were believed to be a number of people in the vicinity when this offence took place, including one individual who came to the aid of the victim.

“I would particularly like to appeal to those persons to come forward and assist the Police in this matter.”
