1:40pm Sunday 6th October 2013 in News
A NORTHWICH sixth form college is looking for a new member to join its governing body.
Sir John Deane’s College has a vacancy for a community governor to join its 18-strong governing team.
Around 1,450 students attend the college to study A-levels, as well as thousands more adult learners who take evening and weekend courses.
The role involves attending just five board meetings a year, as well as three or four extra meetings a year as part of a special committee.
Principal Kerry Kirkwood said: “This is a voluntary but very rewarding post which involves playing an active role in the strategic planning process of the college.
“We are encouraging local people who feel they have a dedication and commitment to make a positive contribution, to get in touch and help develop our outstanding college.”
Governors are encouraged to be involved in the many diverse aspects of college life including attending events, productions and concerts.
The closing date for application is October 11, 2013.
