BEER enthusiasts will be able sample a range of ales from across the United States and UK during a 16-day beer festival at a Northwich pub.

The Penny Black, in Witton Street will be serving 10 beers from the USA during the festival which have been sourced from brewers in states including California, Georgia, Massachusetts and Oregon.

A selection of 40 beers from across the UK will also be served at the festival, which runs from October 16 to October 31.

New seasonal and speciality beers including pumpkin beer, peppercorn beer, organic beer and coffee stout.

Customers will be able to sample any three of the real ales in special third of a pint glasses for the price of a pint.

Kevin Murphy, who manages the Penny Black – which was recently named in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2014 – said: “We are thrilled to be serving such a fantastic selection of beers from the USA and the UK.

“The craft beers from the USA have never before been available in cask form in the UK which makes them even more special.

“The festival will be the perfect way for real ale enthusiasts to enjoy a range of excellent beers.

“It will also give them an opportunity to support microbrewers throughout the UK, as the pub is featuring many of their beers.”
