A MUSEUM is inviting visitors to step back in time to the dark days of the Second World War for a weekend of events.
Weaver Hall Museum, in London Road, is exploring life on the home front on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6.
There will be artefacts and memorabilia from the war, a chance to taste some ration book recipes and a chance to meet a member of the Home Guard who will be showing his role in the war effort and maybe recruiting new members.
Children can try making their own gas mask and practice a gas mask drill as well as sounding the air raid siren.
There will also be displays of photographs and stories from the Northwich area, including the tale of the Junkers 88 shot down over Wincham, munitions work at the New Cheshire Saltworks and gathering food for the war effort.
The event runs from 1pm to 5pm each day.
