CWEST's quest for a home
A SUPPORT group is appealing for a new home to hold two valuable meetings each month.
The Cheshire West Eating Support Team (CWEST) has been meeting at Barnton Pentecostal Church but needs a new venue now the room has become unavailable.
Helen Davies, who set up the group to help people with eating disorders three years ago, said: “I’m hoping this will catch the eye of someone who knows of somewhere or who has somewhere we can hire, anywhere within the Northwich area.
“We’re not that fussy.
“Ideally we would like somewhere where we are able to display our stuff, in our other room we were spoilt because we were allowed pictures and our own furniture, but we are willing to share space.
“It’s just two Sunday evenings a month that we meet so only a few hours.
“Sometimes there’s five or six of us, sometimes 12, but we don’t want a big space because it can be impersonal.”
The group meets on the first and third Sunday of each month from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
Ideally CWEST needs space to display books and leaflets and create a homely and calming environment where people can relax and chat.
Helen said: “The group has been going for three years ago and it does make a difference for those who attend.
“The feedback we’ve had is very positive – it makes a difference to come and have that chat with someone.
“Everything takes time to build up and for people to find out the group actually exists but people are coming through national charity B-eat and we’re just getting a website designed.”
