Bus services to be challenged
11:20am Friday 20th September 2013 in News
BUS services in Moulton are being investigated by parish councillors.
At the latest parish council meeting a Moulton man said he had been struggling since cutbacks in April.
“The last bus out of Northwich is at 7pm and there are no buses at all on Sundays or Bank Holidays,” he said.
“With the advent of all these new things happening in Northwich I feel a bit cut off by Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC).”
He added: “I've been to Stephen O'Brien MP who contacted CWAC who have brushed it under the carpet and said ‘sorry, it's not viable’.
“I thought public transport should be subsidised and I find it unbelievable that because we are out here we are considered to be on the back of it.”
Clr Tony Rigby, parish council chairman, said: “We will have a chat with CWAC’s transport and sustainability officer about the issue as it’s affecting a lot of people in Cheshire west.”
