After school club thanks the community
6:10pm Monday 3rd June 2013 in News
ORGANISERS of an after school club in Castle have been overwhelmed by donations to help them make the club an asset for the area.
Castle Methodist Church, in Beeston Street, appealed through the Guardian for more equipment for the club, which only had some board games, table tennis bats, balls and a net but no table.
Wendy Carr, from the after school club, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful people of Castle, Hartford and Barnton who have between them donated a small billiard table, two football games, a table tennis table and lots of board games for our after school club.
“The youngsters were able to use some of them last week and had a super time.
“People are so generous and we would like them to know that they will be put to good use for the young people of Castle.”
The club meets every Friday during term time between 3.30pm and 5pm and all are welcome.
