KIND hearted mid Cheshire residents are appealing to Guardian readers to help them send a container of goodies to a baby home in Africa.

Winsford woman Val Lithgow plans to send the 40ft container to Forever Angels baby home, in Tanzania, in March.

Val’s daughter Amy Hathaway set up the charity six years ago and runs the home, caring for around 60 orphaned, abandoned and disabled infants, some of whom are HIV positive.

Many of the essential and fun items needed by the home cannot be purchased in Tanzania, so Val plans to send the container packed to the brim with nappies, toys, clothes, equipment, toiletries and medical items.

Many of the items will be packed in wheelie bins, donated by UKCM, which means they will remain safe and dry for the journey, and which will then provide great storage once they arrive at the baby home.

If anyone has used good condition baby equipment, special needs equipment, unwanted indoor or outdoor toys, garden or household tools, electrical items, or childrens clothes for ages birth to five years that they would like to donate ring Val on 01606 554271 or 07733 991663 Visit forverangels.org for a full list of needed items.
