TWO film-makers from Northwich are giving fellow movie fans the chance to play a vital role in their latest production.

Brothers Dan and Nathan Cunningham, who grew up in Leftwich, are appealing for residents of their hometown to help fund their latest project, I AM PIGEON.

The creative duo, who teamed up with lifelong friend and Nathan’s better-half, Bethan, to form Manchester-based independent production company The Low Flying Geese, are hoping that with a little help they can make it big in the film industry.

“Our second project is currently in pre-production,” said 28-year-old producer Dan.

“It’s about an unlikely friendship formed between two patients in a mental institution and it’s going to be filmed at the iconic Manchester Victoria Baths in March.

“We’re hoping that once these two projects are complete and in the public domain we’ll have the notoriety to enable us to secure larger funding for feature length projects but until then, we have set up a crowd funding website that allows people to get involved with our project by donating as little or as much money as they can, gaining perks in return.”

Depending on how much people donate, they can expect to receive a number of film-related goodies, including signed props, film stills, backstage tours and even an executive producer credit in the film’s end titles.

The Low Flying Geese was originally set up by 35-year-old Nathan to help create more diversity with the projects he was writing but when things started to get big, producer Dan and 39-year-old actress Bethan got involved.

“All three of us have been interested and part of creative arts for years but not content with waiting for opportunities to come to us, we have made things happen for ourselves.

“We work with different directors and bring in cast and crew as and when we need them – we’re always looking for both established talent as well as up and coming.”
