Lostock Parish Council slashes budget

LOSTOCK Parish Council has resolved to reduce its budget for 2013/14, slashing it by more than 30 per cent.

The council made the announcement at its January meeting, vowing to cut its budget from £32,463 to £22,228, which equates to a reduction of 31.5 per cent.

Nicola Clarke, clerk to Lostock Parish Council, said: “Capital projects have now been completed at the two play areas in Lostock and the council feels that in this current climate it should not hold large reserves and not put a burden on the local population.”
