A TEENAGER’S bag was stolen in Weaverham on Tuesday.
The 16-year-old was on Cherry Lane when she was approached by a man.
He attempted to grab her bag and when she resisted, he punched her in the face. He then ran off with the bag in the direction of the garages off Cherry Lane.
The victim suffered a slight facial injury as a result of the incident, but did not require hospital treatment.
The man is described as white, between 5ft 7and 5ft 8 tall, and aged older than 20.
He was wearing black clothes with a baggy top.
DC Lee Williams, of Northwich CID, said: "Incidents such as this are uncommon in Weaverham and we are doing all we can to trace the offender.
"We ask that anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 824 of November 20 2012.
"Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
