Mother is up for national award

A NORTHWICH woman is in the running to be named Mum of the Year 2013.

Tracey Wall has been shortlisted from thousands of nominations across the UK in the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards.

She was nominated by her friend Kathryn Jenkinson for her boundless energy and commitment to helping mums within the Northwich community.

Following the birth of her daughter, Tracey become seriously ill as she tried to balance the demands of working full-time, running a household and being a mother.

She felt there were many other mums suffering in the same way as she had and decided to set up an organisation, Empowering Mums, to provide coaching, support and advice.

She has also established Empowering Mums Together, a network to bring mums in the community together.

Kathryn said: “Tracey can only be described as an inspiration to all mums. She is passionate about supporting women and continues to encourage other mums to create fulfilled lives for themselves and their families.”

Paul Morris, Tesco UK marketing customer communications director, said: “We have heard many truly incredible stories and it’s been a privilege to recognise these inspirational women.

“Everyone who is shortlisted has achieved something outstanding and shown selfless devotion to others.

“Our aim is to show every single mum that has been nominated just how amazing she is.”
