A FIELD of 35 hopefuls launch their bid this weekend to qualify for next month's Cheshire County Bowling Association Senior Merit.
Eight made it through last time.
They were: Glynn Cookson, Mark Vernon, Lester Bebbington, Dan Nixon (all Wharton Cons); John Gurney, Steve Nixon (both Castle Private); Mark Winnington, Rob Winnington, (both Frodsham Red Lion).
All bar Steve Nixon are hoping to repeat the trick this year.
They face off along with the rest at Weaverham's Owley Wood Club from 1pm this Saturday.
