POLICE are once again warning shoppers to be vigilant after an 82-year-old woman had her purse stolen in a supermarket.
Margaret Jeffs was in the fruit and veg section of Sainsbury's in Northwich when her purse taken out of her handbag.
When she got to the till she noticed her purse had gone from her bag, which was inside another bag in her shopping trolley.
Northwich PCSO Nicola Smith said although the store was busy, Mrs Jeffs did not feel anyone knock into her.
She said: "Margaret would like to warn all shoppers to keep hold of their handbags whilst shopping as she never expected this to happen and thieves are out there.
"She feels angry and upset."
Police have made CCTV enquiries with the store but to no avail.
