A MAN has admitted the manslaughter of a 60-year-old from Northwich during an unprovoked attack.

Andrew Kirkby, 20, of Congleton Road, in Macclesfield, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Leftwich man John Leonard at Chester Crown Court today, Monday.

He admitted delivering a number of blows to Mr Leonard's head during an argument in the early hours of December 7 last year, which caused Mr Leonard's death the following day.

Mr Leonard, who lived in London Road, was staying at his son Craig's house in Shaw Street, in Macclesfield, when the incident happened.

Two other men, Adam Scott Bradley, 20, from Macclesfield, and Karl Robert Burns, 27, from Stockport, admitted assaulting Craig Leonard at Chester Crown Court today.

The three men will appear at court again for sentencing on June 5.
