SKY Sports commentator Eddie Hemmings will be featured in the new production of Centenary Theatre Company.
The group will perform comedy Up ‘n’ Under and the Brindley in Runcorn.
Eddie, who lives in Warrington, said: “As vice president of the brilliant Centenary Theatre Company, it has been my pleasure adding my voice, and years of experience, to this brilliant rugby league-based play.”
The play, a comedy written by John Godber, follows the story of Arthur, an ex-pro rugby league player, who attempts to lead the Wheatsheaf Arms rugby team to success.
For director Seb Farrell, the process has not been without its challenges, especially when planning an entire rugby match at the end of the play.
He said: “It has been a pleasure to direct this award winning play, especially as someone who loves both rugby league and theatre in equal measure.
“It has been a very exciting and rewarding process, staging the rugby match was particularly fun.
“I’d urge any rugby or theatre fans to join us for this exciting, engaging and very funny play.”
Up ‘n’ Under is being performed at The Brindley Theatre from February 21 to 25. Tickets start at £11 for concessions.
