THE much-loved Sound of Music is being performed by Centenary Theatre Company and you could be part of the cast.

The musical, made famous by the film featuring Julie Andrews, tells the story of Maria Rainer, a free-spirited nun who is hired by Captain Von Trapp to care for his seven children.

The company is holding open auditions for the Von Trapp children: Friederich, aged 14, Louisa, aged 13, Kurt, aged 10, Brigitta, aged nine, Marta, aged seven and Gretl, aged six, at the end of January and wants to hear from anyone interested by the end of December.

The show will take place at The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn, in May.

Chairman Dan Grimes said: “It is not often that an opportunity like this comes up and we would be very keen for any interested children to get in touch with us so that we can give them details of how to get involved.”
