CONDANTE SINGERS CONCERT REVIEW

"A Winter Warmer" was the aptly named concert given by The Condate Singers on December 10 at St John's Church Hall, Sandiway.

Holly and candlelight welcomed both audience and singers on a cold December evening when the music flowed as smoothly as the mulled wine.

Everyone found something they loved in a programme spanning the centuries from Handel to John Rutter.

A medley from Oliver was followed by a solo version of The Christmas Lullaby from Janet Atherton.

Rhythm of Life raced away in contrast to a serene Pie Jesus from mother and daughter duo Sandra Perrin and Julie. Accompanist John Bithell did his Christmas Chopin with Nocturne in D flat and a large helping of humour from Rob Lloyd had everyone laughing.

No Christmas would be complete without a chorus from the Messiah and some favourite carols where the audience got a chance to raise their voices.

The evening finished dramatically with a concert version of Les Miserables.
