Purple Cactus Comedy Club

THE Purple Cactus Comedy Club will make a welcome return to Northwich on September 5.

Performing in this sensational show will be Alun Cochrane, Noel Britten, Sally-Anne Hayward and Wil Hodgson.

Alun Cochrane trained at the Welsh College of Music and Drama between 1995 and 1998, graduating with a degree in Theatre Studies.

He turned to stand-up comedy in late 1999 where he excelled not only as a headline act, but also as a compere.

His act ranges from topical issues to personal tales and his excellent use of language enables him to seamlessly mix improvisation with his material.

Prop comic Noel Britten has been used to success from his first year as a performer, winning the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year 1996 and Ha Bloody Ha New Act of the Year 1996.

Noel is regularly invited to perform in the USA, Australia and Hong Kong to mention a few.

His work has been featured on Channel 4 and BBC.

Charming and chirpy Sally-Anne Hayward has a talky and chatty style which has been likened to ‘your talkative mate, doing all the work in a conversation so you don’t have to’.

Always staying positive, Sally-Anne is more matter-of-fact than negative, delivering her gags in a bright and brilliant manner.

West Country lad Wil Hodgson is an ex-wrestler with a pink mohican and attitude.

His ‘Left’ beliefs are a heavy influence on his act, which is apparent when he tells you about his life story and schoolboy memories.

Wil knows exactly what he wants to say and goes for it.

Doors open at 7.30pm, show starts at 8.30pm.

Tickets, priced £10, are available at valeroyal.gov.uk or by ringing 01606 867539.
